An Orthopantomogram (OPG), also known as an “orthopantogram” or “panorex”, is a panoramic scanning dental X-ray of the upper and lower jaw. It shows a three-dimensional view of a half-circle from ear to ear.
OPGs are used by Dentists to provide information on
- Impacted wisdom teeth.
- Periodontal bone loss.
- Finding the source of dental pain.
- Assessment for the placement of dental implants.
- Orthodontic assessment.
Kataria healthcare boasts of a latest State-of-Art LCD Digital Display Micro-controller Technology based (fully-automatic OPG-TMJ-CEPH modes) Orthopantomography X-ray System. It has inbuilt CSCT (Cervical vertebrae Shadow Compensation Technique) which ensures desired penetration in hi-density cervical region for uniform, detailed information of complete Jaw with dose adjustment even in the hi-density cervical region.
This technology enables acquiring sharp X-Ray images at a lower radiation dose. Compared with conventional systems, the skin surface doe is reduced by approximately 20%. Ability to do additional cephalometric radiography enables the system to fulfil the full spectrum of orthodontic and oral surgery requirements.
